Running in memory of Dad

Story

Our incredible Dad died in March, and we all miss him. But also we're extremely grateful for the amazing memories we have from the year after he was diagnosed with leukaemia. He was able to meet his granddaughter Monica and spend one last amazing Christmas with us all. And that is thanks to both our Dads heroic strength and the amazing care and expertise we were given at the Christie hospital in Manchester.

Cancer is complex, destructive and will unfortunately touch all of us at some point in our lives, in one way or another.

Cancer can also bring out our strengths and the best part of our humanity. The strength and determination of those with the illness, the love and support of family and friends and the care and dedication of those who treat the illness.

Dad loved running and ran in the Chester half marathon a number of times. In tribute to him we will be undertaking this challenge on 8th October. Myself (Emma), Charlotte and Sean will be running the metric marathon (26km) and Alex will be running the traditional marathon (26miles).
