On the 21
January 2018 myself and Dave Newton am running the Essar four villages half marathon Helsby, in aid
of The Christie Charitable Fund.

The Christie NHS Foundation Trust, a specialist
hospital based in Manchester, are leading experts in cancer care, research and
education. Rated as ‘Outstanding’ by the health regulator, the Care Quality
Commission, they have been pioneering cancer research breakthroughs for over
100 years and offer patients access to hundreds of clinical trials. In a global
survey they have been ranked as the most technologically advanced cancer centre
in the world outside North America.

The Charitable Fund provides enhanced services over
and above what the NHS funds. Your donations really do have an impact at The
Christie. Without the support of fantastic fundraisers they would not be able
to give their patients and their families the level of care and support that
they do.  From providing continuous
funding for the Cancer Information Centre and Wig Service, helping patients and
their families cope with the effects of treatment, to raising money for new
developments such as the recently opened Teenage and Young Adult unit and
Proton Beam Therapy facility, your donations are having a positive impact every
single day.
